As someone who has been attending Hackcon since 2022, speaking at Hackcon 2024 was a particularly special milestone. A few months before the event, I submitted my speaker application, eager to share my experiences in building and nurturing campus tech communities. Being selected to speak on “How to Build a Campus Community” felt like a perfect way to give back to a community that has given me so much.
What is Hackcon? šļø
Hackcon is Major League Hacking’s flagship event that brings together over 300 hackathon organizers and campus tech leaders. Hosted at the scenic Camp Pontiac in Copake, New York, this unique conference combines professional development with the nostalgic atmosphere of summer camp. It’s where the next generation of tech leaders gather to share knowledge, form partnerships, and create lasting friendships.
