I co-organized an International Women’s Day (IWD) initiative @Western IveyHacks 2023 featuring Ada Ma, TPM @ Google in AI & ML.

About Ada: Ada is a current TPM at Google, leading Large Language Models deployments across products.

She has 4-years of experience in Machine Learning Research and Application engineering experience at LinkedIn. Prior to that, Ada served as a faculty in East and Middle Asian Studies at Duke University.

Thank you to our Western Women in CS Committee for their support with co-organizing efforts! We had over 100 attendees who were inspired by Ada’s wisdom and breadth of experiences.

International Women’s Day Event

Her journey and diversity of background and experiences from studying English Language and Literature at Peking university, to her masters in linguistics at UIUC, and finally computer science at UC Santa Cruz is a reminder that perserverance, continuous learning and maintaining curiousity are important.

International Women’s Day Event

Her growth mindset is empowering for women and everyone in the room and event left with one of Ada’s favorite quotes " The best time to plant a tree was yesterday. The second best time is today."

I want to thank Ada for her support for our event!
