This summer, I had the incredible opportunity to intern in Global Wholesale Operations (GWO) at Scotiabank, one of the leading banks in the Americas. I want to share my experience and learnings from this enriching journey.
About My Role in Global Wholesale Operations
As a GWO intern, I worked closely with teams that support Scotiabank’s Global Banking and Markets Organization. One of the most valuable aspects of my internship was gaining comprehensive knowledge about the trade lifecycle and developing technical skills crucial for operations in the financial sector.
Technical Growth and Development
Throughout the summer, I focused on:
- Automating manual processes using Excel, VBA and Power BI
- Contributing to data-driven analytics initiatives
- Developing and improving operational processes
- Building technical skills essential for financial operations
Learning Environment and Culture
