Im a WTM Mentor!

I’m a WTM Mentor! As someone who has experienced firsthand the power of mentorship in tech, I’m honored to now guide three early-career professionals on their journeys through our six-month mentorship program.

The tech industry thrives on knowledge sharing and community support. As we navigate through October 2024 to April 2025, I’ll be working closely with my mentees to help them develop their skills, expand their professional networks, and overcome challenges in their tech careers. Our monthly sessions are designed to be collaborative spaces where we can dive deep into their individual goals and aspirations.

What makes this mentorship program particularly meaningful is its focus on customization and personal growth. Rather than following a rigid curriculum, we’re creating individualized roadmaps that align with each mentee’s unique career objectives. Whether it’s mastering new technical skills, developing leadership capabilities, or navigating workplace dynamics, our discussions are tailored to address their specific needs.

As a mentor, I see my role as more than just sharing technical knowledge. I’m committed to being:

  • A supportive guide who helps mentees discover their own solutions
  • A champion who creates a welcoming environment for open dialogue
  • A connector who helps bridge gaps to learning opportunities and networks
  • A thought partner who encourages critical thinking and personal growth

The beauty of mentorship lies in its reciprocal nature. While I’m here to share my experiences and insights, I’m equally excited about learning from my mentees’ perspectives and challenges. Their fresh viewpoints and diverse experiences contribute to my own professional growth, making this truly a two-way learning street.

Through this program, I’m not just helping individuals — I’m contributing to WomenTechmakers’ broader mission of creating a tech industry where all women can thrive. It’s inspiring to be part of a community that actively works to bridge gaps and create opportunities for women in technology.

As we progress through this mentorship journey, I look forward to witnessing my mentees’ growth and achievements. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about being able to give back to the tech community while fostering meaningful connections that can last well beyond our formal mentorship period.

To my fellow tech professionals: consider how you might contribute to nurturing the next generation of talent. Whether through formal mentorship programs or informal guidance, your experience and insights could be the catalyst someone needs to reach their full potential in tech.

Here’s to building a more inclusive, supportive, and dynamic tech community — one mentorship relationship at a time.
